Yellow GEC (or Weltron) 2007 with accompanying 2006 tower speakers and tulip stand. Got them at a really good deal as the current market price for the complete set (2007 and 2006) cost more than $2k. Can you believe that the seller actually got this set as a gift because she fixed her neighbour's car? The lights are not working and I have yet to figure out how to open the stereo and replace them. Still on the waiting list for the replacement lid since there is a crack near the hinge. The color is still vivid and no sigh of scratches. Turntable and radio works perfectly. I even managed to plug my ipod in and play music out from it.
The GEC 2005 version has an 8-track instead of casette player and I have yet to come across one at a good deal. In addition, I am also trying to figure out a way to obtain the horizontal version of the tower speaker (3006 floor speakers) which is only available in Japan.
I bought the extra yellow globe speakers (2006) from another seller as I wanted to collect the 2001 and 2010 radio series in yellow and white respectively since I have already obtained the orange 2004.
Orange GEC (Weltron) 2004 with accompanying 2006 speakers. It has some fading probably from exposure to direct sun light and the original owner scratched his/her initals at the back into the casing. Buffing out the scratches will not be a problem but the color fading may be something more permanent. I need to solder the speaker's cables back so that it can be connected to the radio and maybe send the radio in for a servicing as it sometimes acts up. The collectable value has diminished slightly due to it's fading but orange is still the rarest color among this series. Some fella paid $2k on one set recently and I only paid a fraction of it's price from a seller who found it in an op shop.
